Eating Yucky Food

As much as I would like to say this post is about us, it isn't. We were spared from eating this yucky meal however the children were not.

Wednesday the children got home from school and instead of heading right down to the school-house to do homework they were all summoned and brought to the kitchen area. Each child was handed a bowl and told to eat up. It was so interesting to watch the children go from full of energy to totally morose. They were not happy about this meal.

What's in the bowl you may ask which is exactly what I did. Inside the metal bowl was dry barly and unprocessed wheat (meaning it didn't like it usually does when we get from the store it was in it's full natural state). Then on top of all that was a big spoonful of yogurt which was made that day from one of the cows on the farm. It looked awful!

The kids thought so too. It took them forever to get it down and they hated every bit of it.

I should have mentioned this before the photos just in case you didn't get to the bottom. This meal which they call bitten rice is very healthy for the kids. It helps with their digestion systems and helps their bodies grow. In Jenessa's words they need this because they don't get enough nutrition on what they are eating.

  1. So if this is a nutritional thing and the kids hate it, does that mean they get it regularly? Is it on a schedule?
